New Venture Skills Learnerships

by | Apr 7, 2022 | Blog

At Village Tech we firmly believe in empowering people through technology training and our New Venture Skills and Learnership based courses are a big part of our ongoing educational drive.

In Africa there are currently unprecedented levels of unemployment among young people and worryingly, these unemployment numbers are expected to increase given the booming youth population on the continent.

Those that are employed work mainly in the informal sector. In fact, in Sub-Saharan Africa it is estimated that 95% of youth between the ages of 15-24 are employed in the informal economy.

It is no surprise then that Entrepreneurship has been cited as a key lever to transform local and global communities and societies.

Entrepreneurship has a major role in promoting innovation, improving productivity and developing a business culture. And, importantly, it has the potential to create employment.

A greater focus on entrepreneurship would permit the development of more enterprises to formalise many aspects of the South African economy.

Village Tech’s Entrepreneurship skills and learnership programmes provides aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with the essential skills needed to successfully research, launch and manage a new business venture.
